About Nissim Jan Sajid
Nissim Jan Sajid has been practicing culturally-responsive and person-centered psychotherapy for the past decade in the U.S., Bangladesh, and Thailand. Her work spans across multiple modalities, therapeutic techniques and clientele. She believes that the client is the expert of their life story, and as such is the guiding light in the process of therapy. Her role as the counselor is being non-judgmental, curious, and deeply-affirming, to promote well-being and positive change.
Nissim specializes in working with adults and teenagers (aged 16 and above), who wish to address mood disorders, anxiety, relationship challenges, identity, grief, existential questions, and life transitions. Her own life experiences and personal passion lend to her repertoire of working with women experiencing pre/post marital conflict, pre/post partum challenges, as well as the complexities of gender identity exploration.
Nissim applies an eclectic blend of therapies such as CBT, DBT, ACT, humanistic and psychosomatic approaches to support her clients in their journey towards growth and healing. She has not only worked with individuals, but also school systems, universities, NGO’s, and corporate entities to provide wellness solutions. To her, mental health is more than the absence of a disorder; it encompasses emotional, psychological, and social well-being, including the ability to cope with life’s stresses, function productively, and contribute to one’s community.
Her workshop titles and training offerings can be made available upon request.
