1. Developmental Assessment (Cognition, Language, Motor)

The Bayley’s Scales of Infant and Toddler Development – Third Edition (Bayley’s III) is used to assess cognitive, language, and motor development in children aged 16 days to 42 months. This comprehensive test helps identify developmental delays or strengths early in life, allowing timely intervention. The assessment typically takes around 60 minutes.

There is also a screening version of Bayley’s III that provides a quicker overview of a child’s developmental progress in about 35 minutes, making it ideal for early screening and follow-up purposes.

2. Developmental Quotient Assessment

For children showing signs of global developmental delay, the Reynell Zinkin Scales are administered. This assessment measures mental development in young visually handicapped children, aged 2 months to 5+ years. The test provides valuable insights into developmental milestones and helps tailor educational or therapeutic interventions. Duration: approximately 60 minutes.

3. Intelligence (IQ) Tests

wEvolve uses a variety of standardized IQ tests appropriate for different age ranges to measure intellectual functioning.

  • The Wechsler Pre-School and Primary Scale of Intelligence – Third Edition (WPPSI III Junior) is designed for children aged 2.6 to 4 years, lasting about 60 minutes.
  • The WPPSI III Senior version assesses children aged 4 to 7.3 years, helping evaluate verbal and performance IQ with similar duration.
  • The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fourth Edition (WISC IV) is used for children aged 6–16 years, taking about 80 minutes, and offers a deeper understanding of a child’s cognitive profile.
  • The Stanford–Binet Intelligence Scale – Fourth Edition is suitable for non-verbal children between 2–9 years, particularly useful for those with speech or communication barriers.
  • The Wechsler Abbreviated Scale of Intelligence (WASI) is a brief yet comprehensive test applicable for both children and adults (6–89 years), providing an efficient estimate of overall intelligence within 60 minutes.
4. Learning Disability Assessment

To identify learning disabilities, the Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT) is used. It assesses basic academic skills such as reading, spelling, and arithmetic in children aged 5 to 16 years. This helps in diagnosing specific learning difficulties and planning individualized educational support. The assessment generally requires 60 minutes.

5. Autism Assessment

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) is an internationally recognized tool for diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It includes five modules—the Toddler Module, Module 1, Module 2, Module 3, and Module 4—each tailored for different developmental and language levels, from 12 months to adulthood.

  • Toddler Module: For children aged 12–30 months, focusing on social and communicative behaviors.
  • Module 1 & 2: For individuals using few or no words to those with simple phrases.
  • Module 3: For fluent speakers aged above 31 months using complex sentences.
  • Module 4: For adults and verbally fluent adolescents.
Each module takes around 60 minutes to administer and provides deep insights into communication, play, and social interaction.
6. Adaptive Behavior Assessment

The Independent Behavior Assessment Scale (IBAS) evaluates adaptive behavior skills in children aged 2–9 years. It measures how effectively a child copes with everyday demands such as communication, self-care, and social skills. This assessment helps understand a child’s independence level and guides parents or caregivers in promoting functional development. The duration is about 60 minutes.

7. Session Details

Before any formal assessment, wEvolve conducts a Pre-assessment and History Taking Session (around 50 minutes) to gather essential background information about the client’s development and current concerns.

After assessments, a Report Consultancy Session (about 30 minutes) is provided to explain the findings and recommendations.

Additionally, Counselling or Psychotherapy Sessions (lasting 45–50 minutes) are available for ongoing emotional and behavioral support. For families, Parent Counselling Sessions of 80 minutes help guide caregivers in applying therapeutic strategies and understanding their child’s needs effectively.
